Flanagan Offers “High Tech” Unique Opportunity
Terry Flanagan, who defended his WBO lightweight crown from Orlando Cruz the same night Vasyl left Walters on his stool, would offer Lomachenko a chance to become a three-weight world champion potentially in 10 professional fights, an unheard of feat.
Manchester’s Flanagan is up for the challenge. “Hopefully Frank [Warren, his promoter] will make that fight next year. I’d jump at the chance. Everybody will put Lomachenko as a big favorite in that fight but I think with my boxing skills we’d box off together and it would make for a great fight,” Terry said.
“Lomachenko’s seen as the best. That would be a great fight. Or to get a unification fight out of any of the other champions would be great before I eventually move up. Eventually I’ll win another world title at another weight. I’ll hopefully unify the division before I do that.
“I’ll wait for them and hopefully show everyone what I’m capable of.” Flanagan spoke with John Dennen from Boxingnewsonline.net
