Floyd Mayweather Jr, Anderson Silva On May Fight Card In Dubai
Floyd Mayweather Jr is returning for another exhibition fight.
This time, the retired 50-0 boxer will face club fighter Don Moore in an eight-round bout on a hotel helipad in Dubai, TMZ reported Wednesday night.
Mayweather, who turned 45 in February, was last in action for an exhibition matchup against YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul in June 2021.
The fight went the distance, and no winner was declared, but it was clear Mayweather was dominating the contest. However, viewers applauded Paul for being able to go the distance with the future Hall of Famer.
Mayweather’s last official fight was in 2017 against UFC superstar Conor McGregor. He knocked out the Irishman in the 10th round in Las Vegas, which rounded out his career to a perfect 50-0 record.
That fight was one of the highest grossing boxing events in history.
Moore, 42, has not fought since 2013 when he defeated Reymundo Hernandes, leaving his record at 18-0-1.
It’s unclear if the fight will be judged.
Former UFC champion Anderson Silva is also on the card and will face Bruce Machado. Silva has had a successful boxing campaign so far. In his last outing, he laid out fellow former UFC fighter Tito Ortiz.
Former boxing champion Badou Jack will also return to action, but it’s unclear who he will face.
