Floyd Mayweather Jr. Set To Face Mafia Boss’ Grandson In Latest Exhibition

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is set to face John Gotti III on June 11th, 2023, at the FLA Live Arena, Florida, for his latest exhibition.

Mayweather has continued 2023 in the same manner as he started, following his first exhibition of the year against Aaron Chalmers. With that being said, Gotti poses an intriguing matchup.

Gotti has an impressive MMA record of 5-1, as well as an unbeaten boxing record of 2-0. Not only that, but he is the grandson of none other than Mafia boss ‘Teflon Don’.

Despite that being the case, Mayweather’s reported motives for the bout are more than just facing Gotti.

Mayweather has announced that the upcoming event will be in memory of Marikit Laurico, his assistant who passed away. However, it is important to bear in mind the following point.

Mayweather’s last bout against Chalmers was marred by empty seats, showing that the American’s star power may not have been what it once was.

And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
