Floyd Mayweather Names Fighter Who Should Be At The Top

Floyd Mayweather gave Jaron Ennis his ultimate stamp of approval, telling him via facetime that he “deserves to be at the top” of the sport and reassured him that his time to completely rule the boxing world is coming.

The 29-year-old Ennis has been a force in the ring, boasting a flawless 36-0 record with 32 knockouts. He solidified his status as one of the sport’s elite just last month at the Barclays Center. Ennis stopped Xander Zayas in the seventh round. The victory earned Ennis the WBA and WBO super-welterweight straps, making him a two-division unified champion. A unification fight against IBF super-welterweight champion Josh Kelly is reportedly in the works, as Floyd was full of praise for Boots. 

Mayweater: “I am proud of you.”

Ennis: “Thank you, I appreciate it. Thank you, you are one of my favourite fighters, man.”

Mayweather: “I am proud of him. I am going to continue to see you do good, man. You deserve to be at the top, but everything takes time, you’ll be OK.”
