Floyd Mayweather Open To Helping Anthony Joshua Prepare For Tyson Fury
Floyd Mayweather has been chummy with Anthony Joshua and he’s willing to help “AJ” prepare for Tyson Fury.
Joshua and Fury have signed on for a two-fight agreement. Their first encounter doesn’t have a date or location but it’s expected to take place in the Middle East. Joshua vs. Fury 1 would determine the undisputed heavyweight champion of boxing. Fury insists that despite the signing, the bout still has a long way to go before happening.
During an interview with The Disruptive Entrepreneur, Mayweather revealed that he’d be more than happy to work with Joshua in preparation for Fury (via BoxingScene.com).
“I look forward to working with Anthony Joshua real soon, we communicate all the time, we talk all the time. I’ve met Tyson Fury on a few occasions, great guy, very interesting, after the fight I like to see him sing. I haven’t seen him fight a lot of times, I’ve seen him fight probably only twice. I’ve only seen Tyson Fury fight twice, against Deontay Wilder.
“Anthony Joshua has a lot of experience, Tyson Fury as well has a lot of experience. But I think with Anthony Joshua losing a fight, that helped him become stronger. But it’s a very intriguing match-up, you can never say what’s going to happen in the sport of boxing. Both guys are great competitors. Like I say, me and Anthony Joshua talk on the regular, so I look forward to working with Anthony Joshua.”
Mayweather was in attendance for Joshua’s most recent outing. Joshua put his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO Heavyweight Titles on the line against Kubrat Pulev. Joshua managed to do Mayweather’s signature pull counter in the fight. “AJ” emerged victorious via ninth-round knockout.
Fury is coming off a seventh-round TKO finish over Deontay Wilder back in February 2020. “The Gypsy King” captured the WBC and The Ring Heavyweight Titles with the win.
