Floyd Mayweather Suing Former Investment Manager For $175M

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather filed a lawsuit in New York seeking $175 million, alleging former associates diverted and mishandled millions tied to his business, investments, and real estate dealings over several years.

The lawsuit names Floyd’s former investment manager, Jona Rechnitz, his real estate advisor, Ayal Frist, attorney Alexander Seligson, and Frist Apex Ventures as defendants.

Mayweather says Rechnitz gained his trust before directing large sums into accounts connected to Frist Apex Ventures. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants transferred millions of dollars tied to investments, settlement proceeds, property loans, and refinances without Mayweather’s authorization.

The filing also claims the defendants pledged nearly $100 million in Mayweather’s jewelry for roughly $13 million without his authorization and diverted proceeds from the sale of his jet toward a “Bugatti-related obligation” while Mayweather received none of the money.

Mayweather’s attorney, Leo Jacobs, said the lawsuit seeks “a full judicial accounting” and recovery of funds Mayweather claims the defendants diverted.

None of the defendants responded publicly to the allegations at the time of publication.
