Floyd Mayweather would accept another fight with Conor McGregor if the dollar signs are correct.
Back in August 2017, Mayweather and McGregor shared the boxing ring for a “Money Fight.” Mayweather won the pro boxing match via TKO in the 10th round. It was the last pro bout of “Money’s” career and it bumped him up to a perfect 50-0.
Since that fight, McGregor has been clamoring for a rematch. Mayweather has expressed his belief that the rematch would bring in significant numbers. Their first encounter drew 4.3 million pay-per-view buys.
Earlier this year, McGregor took to social media to make it clear that he feels he can defeat Mayweather in a rematch.
“Just know that for the inevitable rematch, with the knowledge I now hold of Floyd’s style, plus under the tutelage of my old school boxing coach, I will crack the puzzle, and I will beat Floyd. I promise my life on it.”
Appearing on Shannon Sharpe’s CLUB SHAY SHAY, Mayweather said he’d take on McGregor again for a massive payday (via MMAFighting.com).
“If I could pick an easy $300 million, absolutely. Same way, same results.”
Mayweather went on to say that he’d also share the boxing ring with UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov if the numbers add up.
“Your health is your wealth. So as far as me going out there and competing against a guy like Conor McGregor, or a guy that’s really inexperienced. Absolutely [I’d fight Khabib Nurmagomedov]. Those are $300 million fights.”
Mayweather’s last boxing match was an exhibition affair. He took on Tenshin Nasukawa back in December 2018. Mayweather won the fight via first-round TKO.
McGregor hasn’t competed in a boxing match since the Mayweather fight. He has gone 1-1 in MMA since sharing the ring with “Money.” In his most recent outing, McGregor scored a 40-second TKO victory over Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
