Could we actually see a Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor rematch in 2020? Mayweather seems to be open to the idea, according to his social media.
In the immediate aftermath of McGregor’s victory in the main event of UFC 246, Mayweather released a photo of a mock poster to his Instagram page. The poster is for a rematch between him and McGregor.
McGregor made his return to the Octagon for the first time in over a year at UFC 246, defeating Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in just 40 seconds. The former two-division UFC champion has stated he is keeping all options open for 2020, and he has a list of goals that includes more bouts in boxing, including a potential rematch with Mayweather.
Mayweather and McGregor met in a long-awaited “Money Fight” in August 2017. Mayweather stopped McGregor in the 10th round.
Mayweather was not done with the social media posting, however, as he also uploaded a mock poster for a fight with him and McGregor’s longtime archrival, current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The two have had their own fair share of words over the past couple of years, with Nurmagomedov once referring to himself as the “Floyd Mayweather of MMA.”
