Former Bellator Champion Julia Budd Joins PFL, Debuts October 27

Julia Budd is making her first appearance in the PFL.

Budd (15-3) recently signed a contract with promotion and is set to step into the octagon against Kaitlin Young in a lightweight fight on the undercard of PFL’s championship event in Hollywood, Florida.

Budd is a former Bellator women’s featherweight champion. She has been dubbed as one of the best featherweights in the world at 145 pounds. But PFL only has a lightweight division at 155 pounds for women.

She held Bellator’s women’s featherweight title from 2017 to 2020. She lost the belt to renowned female mixed martial artist Cris Cyborg. Budd has won 13 of her last 14 fights.

The 38-year-old has only lost to three women in her career: Cyborg, Ronda Rousey and Amanda Nunes, UFC’s double champion.

She will be part of PFL’s season structure next year.
