Former MMA Star Admits Murdering Wife In Brazil

It's unclear how long he will be in custody.

A 44-year-old MMA fighter has been arrested in Brazil after he confessed to murdering his wife, according to The Mirror.

The reported murderer, Luis Lima, caught the police’s attention after CCTV footage showed him pushing an empty laundry cart at the apartment of his wife, 26-year-old Ellida Ferreira.

Approximately four minutes, Lima was seen returning with Ferreira’s body wrapped in a sheet.

The police believe that The former martial artist then waited for a day, then took the body in his car and threw his wife’s body into a stream on Sunday morning.

Lima had approached the authorities first himself, complaining about his wife being missing.

He claimed that he also tried to contact Ferreira multiple times before getting in touch with her family.

Lima told the police that he hadn’t heard from his wife since she’d left to visit her mother in Campinas.

The body was later found in a stream, wrapped in a sheet with her legs and arms both bound by rope. That is when the police immediately began pulling out and examining the CCTV footage from the wife’s apartment complex.

It hasn’t yet been determined how long he will serve behind bars. The culprit once competed in a pro-MMA bout in 2012 at Mr. Cage 7 in Manaus, where Leo Santos submitted him in the very first round.
