Former New York Jets Linebacker Anthony Wint Set For UFC Debut

Former New York Jets linebacker Anthony Wint (7-0) will make his UFC debut on Saturday’s Fight Night event at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.

The debut comes just 11 days after Wint scored a 34-second TKO over Matt Adams on Dana White’s Contender Series on August 11. Wint took Adams down before finishing him with ground strikes, earning a UFC contract following the performance.

Wint is not the only former football player to transition to mixed martial arts, following the likes of Greg Hardy, Matt Mitrione and Ovince Saint Preux.

His journey in combat sports continues this weekend when he faces Terrance Chatman (5-1), who will also be making his UFC debut.

Wint vs. Chatman will take place on the preliminary card.

The main card is headlined by Anthony Hernandez vs. Gregory Rodrigues at middleweight. Other bouts include Serghei Spivac vs. Vitor Petrino at heavyweight and Reinier de Ridder vs. Roman Dolidze at light heavyweight.
