Former Uber Driver Ferreira Submits Opponent

Cezar Ferreira said driving for Uber while he was away from fighting taught him about the value of money.  Those days are probably behind him after securing a performance of the night bonus on Saturday in Brazil.  While Cezar prefers to submit fighters in the octagon over driving around passengers he enjoyed the experience and says it was a blessing when he needed to provide for his family.

After going through spinal surgery and enduring a painful recovery Ferreira was knocked out in back to back fights, something needed to change.  He took time off from fighting and with his first baby on the way Cezar needed to find a way to make money to provide for his growing family.  Uber became Ferreira’s way of making money, he needed a low impact job that would allow him to train and not tire him out in the process.  Although not as glamorous as cage fighting being an Uber driver allowed him to make steady money and secure tips from fight fans that recognized him.

Cezar was quoted in a post fight interview saying "I’m so glad that I did that,” he said. “It was a good experience. After that, I think about the value of money. It’s hard to make money in life."

It looks like Ferreira’s fighting career has turned a corner this year. He moved to a new city, a different training camp, and hired a new manager. The change paid off. He’s now won three straight fights.
