Former UFC And WWE Fighter Matt Riddle Considers 2024 Comeback

Former UFC and WWE fighter Matt Riddle is open to returning to combat sports in 2024.

Riddle is currently a free agent following his departure from WWE. His last MMA fight was in 2014, and he left the UFC in 2013. He won his last four UFC fights, but two of those were made into a no-contest after he failed two tests for marijuana. His UFC record was 7-3 (2 NC), his 8th win came in Titan FC 27. Riddle signed for WWE in 2018 before leaving this year. The 37 year old still has more goals he wishes to achieve.

“There’s been a lot of talk. I’ve been talking to a couple of promotions. I don’t want to get into it until it’s official, but I think in 2024 there’s a very big possibility that I get back in the ring or cage pretty soon,” Riddle said

Riddle still practices MMA weekly and was awarded his Jiu-Jitsu black belt in January. He failed to disclose which promotion he was considering, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he has gotten offers from BKFC and the PFL. Riddle was in attendance for the Jake Paul vs. Andre August fight. This may hint he could join the PFL, as Paul’s MMA debut is expected soon. Riddle has not fought in MMA since the Nevada Athletic Commission amended its anti-doping policy in 2021 to ‘not ban athletes for the use or possession of marijuana.’ Riddle has also not ruled out a return to the UFC.

I never say never. If the opportunity is right. I don’t really hold a grudge. I mean, I talk a lot of s**t. Sorry, I talk a lot of trash. That’s about it. If there’s business to be had, I’ll get business done. … For me, there’s no fence that really needs mending. (White) had his decision. I had mine. He went his way. I went my way,” Riddle stated
