Former UFC Fighter Jay Silva Dies At 45

Jay Silva (12-14-1), a veteran of 27 professional MMA fights, has passed away at 45 years old.

Fame MMA, the last organisation for which he competed, announced his death via social media on Monday. No cause of death was given.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of FAME fighter Jay Silva. Through his performances, Jay brought a great smile, positive energy, and the professionalism of a true athlete. He will forever remain a part of our federation’s history! We extend our sincerest condolences to Jay’s loved ones, family, and friends. Rest in peace,” FAME MMA

Silva made two appearances in the UFC between 2009 and 2010, dropping unanimous decisions to C.B. Dollaway and Chris Leben. After leaving the promotion, he went on to compete for Bellator and KSW, where he challenged for the middleweight title, facing the likes of Hector Lombard, Kendall Grove, Sam Alvey and Mariusz Pudzianowski across a career that began in 2008. His final bout came at Fame MMA on April 5, 2025, where he lost to Denis Labryga by unanimous decision.
