Francis Ngannou Gives An Update On His Knee Surgery
It has been a roller coaster ride for Francis Ngannou (17-3-0).
After his UFC 270 title defense, the heavyweight champion announced that he will be undergoing knee surgery to repair his ACL and MCL in his right knee.
Considering how physical the fight was, it seemed likely that the Cameroonian MMA fighter would come out of it with bruises to show. However, things have turned out worse than he actually expected.
It is reported that the 35-year-old entered the UFC 270 main event against Ciryl Gane with an injured ACL and MCL. Doctors had told him to remain cautious with his right knee. It seems that his intention was always to kill off the fight in the earlier stages rather than extending it and making it worse for his right knee.
Despite the physical problems, Ngannou’s experience showed up. Due to the lack of movement, Ngannou used his fighting brain to overcome all the obstacles presented by Gane and secured a decision win.
Despite the win, the consequences were so huge that the “Predator’ had to stay out of action. Now, he is in recovery and rehabilitation as he strives to return to his best possible condition.
The Cameroonian fighter has posted videos on his social media accounts, which has given his fans plenty of optimism related to his condition.
