Francis Ngannou Says UFC Holds All The Power To Destroy Fighters

Francis Ngannou’s mind hasn’t changed after retaining the heavyweight championship against former teammate, Ciryl Gane.

The Cameroon-France native has insisted that he does not want to compromise on his freedom by continuing with what the UFC offers him and other fighters in the contract.

“The term of the contract, everything that they put into, they hold you in captivity,” the Predator told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.

“You can’t do anything. You have no rights. The contract is one-sided, although you still don’t have anything. You don’t even have health insurance, even while you’re putting your body on the line to provide to put on the show.

“That’s probably the thing that I hated most about this, how they hold all the cards, the power to just destroy you.

Ngannou has claimed that the UFC treats a fighter well only until they don’t raise any objection.

He wants the promotion to make its demands clear in the agreements it signs with the fighters so that they can avoid being bound to the UFC’s commands.

“You’re risking everything. There’s a lot of things. We have no insurance. Nothing. No guarantee, which I understand as an independent contractor, but treat me as such if I am. Whether I’m going to be an employee or an independent contractor, make it very clear in the contract. It’s very mixed up.”

Ngannou has been the talk of the town ever since he overwhelmed Gane.

The fans loved his commitment to the sport when the champ revealed that he did not pull out of the fight despite sustaining a knee injury during the training camp.

“I’ve been through a lot of stuff in my life,” Ngannou had told Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview.

“So I was sure (I could do it). I mean, that must be a dumb decision, but I didn’t wanna withdraw from this fight. I was very confident in my skills in this fight.”

His manager Marquel Martin has said that the heavyweight star will undergo a surgery soon.
