Francis Ngannou’s Next Move Is ‘Very Close,’ Says Ariel Helwani
Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou could announce his next move soon.
That is according to Ariel Helwani. Ngannou has been a free agent ever since he left the UFC in 2022 following the breakdown in talks over a new contract.
While that may have been the case, he did reach the pinnacle of the sport. He defended his title with a win over Ciryl Gane before vacating.
And as part of that process, Ngannou hinted that he wanted to transition into boxing. He was linked with mega fights with Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
Those fights failed to materialize, but something could soon be on the horizon. Helwani is adamant that the ex-heavyweight champion is in serious discussions with the PFL, with an agreement possibly being reached.
“Francis is very close to signing a new deal with another promotion. According to Francis, he was very upfront about this.
“He’s very close [to a deal], could even be signed this week, he tells me,” Helwani

It's crazy how some folks are praying for @francis_ngannou's downfall. They want him to fail so bad, just for them to say "I told you so". It's really sad. BUT, the joke's on them! Soar, Le Prédateur!!✊🏾 https://t.co/FaDWFocOz6
