Frank Warren Not Happy With Eddie Hearn Over Comments On Daniel Dubois
Queensberry Promotions’ Frank Warren is none too pleased with the remarks from Eddie Hearn on Daniel Dubois.
Dubois was in action on November 28. He had a heavyweight collision with Joe Joyce. Going into the fight, both men were undefeated but only one could keep his record unblemished. Joyce scored the 10th-round knockout as Dubois took a knee a failed to beat the 10-count. Dubois reportedly suffered a broken eye socket and a bleed on his retina.
In an interview with iFL TV, Hearn wasn’t exactly sold on Dubois’ injuries. The Matchroom Boxing boss said he feels Dubois simply froze early on and wanted out of the fight.
Warren went off on Hearn over the comments (via BoxingScene.com).
“Afterwards you have some t— sitting in his office saying we are all lying about it I find that a real personal affront. It is all very well and wise to be clever after the event. To say that he doesn’t believe what happened, who gives a f–king sh-t what Hearn says? He doesn’t believe? We can all point fingers but it should be about the fighter’s safety. If a boxer has to lose his eyesight to prove a point then I’m afraid anyone who thinks that should not have any part in the sport.”
With the loss to Joyce, Dubois’ record falls to 15-1. He will reportedly be out of action for at least five months. Warren believes that even if Dubois had made it out of the 10th round, the bout would’ve been stopped.
