Frankie Edgar To End Retirement For BKFC Debut

UFC Hall of Famer Frankie Edgar is ending his three-year retirement to make his BKFC debut on October 4 at BKFC 82 against Jimmie Rivera.

Edgar, who was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2024, made his UFC debut in 2007. He would beat B.J.Penn at UFC 112 in 2010 for the lightweight belt. His last MMA fight was a knockout loss to Chris Gutierrez at UFC 281 in November 2022, marking his third consecutive defeat. His opponent, Jimmie Rivera, retired from MMA with a 23-5 record. He last fought in the UFC in 2021, losing to Pedro Munhoz before transitioning to BKFC, where he holds a record of 2-2-1. Rivera most recently challenged for the BKFC featherweight title last November, a bout he lost againt Kai Stewart.
