Frankie To Conor: Any Weight Class, Any Time
After Conor McGregor revealed former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is near the top of his potential opponent list, the New Jersey native said he’s ready to throw down.
“He runs on the back foot and shoots on the single leg,” McGregor recently told Ariel Helwani. “I want these sort of similar bouts. Even though he lost to Max [Holloway] in a very close bout, I don’t care. Wins and losses don’t matter in this game. It’s the stories we are all on and the journeys we are all on.”
Edgar, who looked to drop down to bantamweight for his next fight, is willing to put those plans on hold to finally fight the fellow former lightweight champion.
You know I'm down to fight @thenotoriousmma it should have happened a long time ago. I know I'm going down to Bantam weight but for you any weight class will do. Anytime any weight class you know I'm game. pic.twitter.com/A04Eoav8rC
