Fundora Vs. Kelly Unification Talks Underway

Eddie Hearn confirmed that talks have started over a unification between WBC Junior Middleweight Champion Sebastian Fundora (24-1-1, 16 KOs) and the IBF Champion Josh Kelly (18-1-1, 9 KOs).

The talks come after Fundora’s March 28 title defense, where he stopped former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman via a sixth-round TKO. Meanwhile, Kelly is coming off a career-best performance on January 31, having beaten Bakhram Murtazaliev to capture the IBF 154-lb title.

While both camps have expressed interest in the matchup, the primary obstacle remains the location. Kelly is a domestic draw at the Utilita Arena, Newcastle, in the UK. Fundora, promoted by Al Haymon and PBC, fights in Las Vegas. Talks are underway.

“We’ve had very, very early conversations with PBC about that. They’re very interested, and I said let’s make Josh Kelly against Fundora and then the winner fights the winner of Boots for the undisputed,” Hearn said
