Fundora vs. Spence Set For October

Sebastian Fundora will face Errol Spence Jr. in October.

The fight will take place at 154 pounds. Fundora has the WBC and WBO junior middleweight belts. But it is believed that Fundora will either vacate or be stripped of the WBO belt. Fundora won the titles after beating Tim Tszyu via a split decision. Spence has not boxed since being stopped by Terence Crawford last year. It was his first defeat as Crawford became the first Undisputed Welterweight Champion of the four-belt era.

Spence has his first fight at 154, which will be without Derrick James. The two parted ways after claims Spence did not pay James some money which was owed, as the trainer took legal action. Crawford will box Israil Madrimov on August 3 for the WBA Junior Middleweight Belt. If Spence and Crawford win their respective fights, it sets up a potential rematch at 154.
