Fury Backs Chisora For Shot At Wilder
Following Dereck Chisora’s performance against Carlos Takam, Eddie Hearn made it known that either Chisora or Whyte may face WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.
Tyson Fury, who is in the midst of a comeback, fully supports a showdown between Chisora and Wilder.
“I would be the first to back him in a world title fight,” Fury said to The Sun.
“I’ll back the campaign, let’s get a campaign going where we get Dereck Chisora a world heavyweight championship around his waist.
“The guy deserves it, he’s a warrior, he’ll fight anybody, he’s been on the road, he’s fought the best in the world, he’s still going – even when people write him off.”
Hearn is set to send offers for both Whyte and Chisora, hoping the WBC champion bites on one of them.
“I’d like to see Chisora fight Wilder, why not?,” Hearn said to IFL TV.
“Maybe he thinks he’ll beat Chisora. I’ll make him an offer, I’ll leave an email this week.
“We’ll do it in America, he needs a fight. You can’t ignore me. You may think I’m a p**** and you may hate me. But if I’m overpaying you and putting you on nights like this, no one puts on nights like this.”
