Fury Claims He Is Stronger Heading Into Parker Fight
With fight night turning from days into hours, Hughie Fury feels he is in the best physical shape of his career heading into Saturday’s WBO title fight against Joseph Parker.
Fury who has been beset with the acne conglobata, a skin condition that has limited him in the past, he says that with it handled its a new day for him.
“That’s all behind me now. I’ve got a clean sheet, I feel a different person and a lot stronger. My body wasn’t allowing me to do a lot before. It would put me out for two weeks at a time before the fight which was three or four weeks away. I just had to stop because I was worse off for training. I had a skin condition which was poisoning my blood and over the years it has got worse and worse.”
The 23 year old Britton wasn’t himself in his last fight almost a year and a half ago against Fred Kassi where he won via technical decision.
If Fury has truly overcome his issues and is training better than before, this Saturday in his hometown of Manchester, this may be his best shot to win his first world title against Parker who is making his first major WBO title defense outside of his native New Zealand, where the fight was originally scheduled.
