Fury: “I’ll Sit With Dana After I Beat Wilder”

After debuting for the WWE in October, facing Deontay Wilder for his second chance to become WBC world heavyweight champion on February 22nd, and potentially facing Brock Lesnar at WWE’s Wrestlemania, Tyson Fury may step inside the Octagon.

Fury sat cageside on Saturday night at UFC 246 as he prepares for his fight with Wilder inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena for an ESPN/FOX Sports co-branded pay-per-view, and made it clear he wants a shot with UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

While Fury wants the crack at Miocic inside the Octagon, but not under the Unified Rules of MMA.

“I don’t want to go into an MMA fight, rolling around the floor and all that, no. But I would fight one of their champions in small gloves. Maybe in a cage, but with boxing rules. I think that would be very interesting. … With UFC gloves, the little 4-ounce gloves, that would be good for me,” Fury told ESPN.

“After I beat Deontay Wilder next month, I’m going to have a sit-down with Dana [White] and we’re going to go for it, run some numbers and see if the fight makes sense. Whoever’s available from that side, and whoever’s willing to get their ass kicked in the cage by the heavyweight champion of the world, he’s the one I want.”
