Eddie Hearn says Anthony Joshua’s (30-4) contract has already been breached as organizers push to relocate his fight with Tyson Fury (36-2) from the UK to New York, and he’s signaling he’s prepared to reveal details if the standoff drags on.
Speaking at Saturday’s post-fight press conference following George Liddard’s win, Hearn accused organizers of trying to cut Joshua’s purse, tack on extra obligations, and pressure him into terms outside the original deal.
“What they want to do is they want to pay Anthony Joshua less money because that’s how it will work out with the difference in location. They want him to do a load of additional stuff. I’m not going to blow things up, which I could do so easily, but there has been breaches in AJ’s contract already which we’ve let slide because these guys are our partners and our friends, or were,” Hearn
The dispute extends to Dana White as well — Hearn says the current agreement bars TKO and Zuffa from any promotional role. Nick Khan has also reached out to explore a path for TKO’s involvement, though Hearn suggested White’s public comments have made these discussions of further complication.
With Netflix needing lead time to promote the card and Madison Square Garden potentially releasing the date to another event, Hearn says the coming week is effectively the deadline to save the November fight. Joshua remains committed to facing Fury, but the venue, money, and promotional disputes need resolving fast.
