Fury-Pulev Eyed For IBF Eliminator

Hours after he was rumored to replace Jarrell Miller, Hughie Fury is the next man up to face Kubrat Pulev in a IBF heavyweight title eliminator.

Fury, ranked fifth by the IBF will now set a date with Pulev for a fight in Sofia, Bulgaria, the location that made Miller want to pull out of a fight with the Bulgaria native.

“We were trying for the fight to happen in the United States, or at the very least some kind of neutral territory, and we just couldn’t make that deal,” Miller’s promoter Dmitry Salita told Sky Sports.

“Jarrell wants to fight the best fighters in the world and Pulev is a very good fighter, and we would consider that fight, just the location didn’t work for us.

“Jarrell has demonstrated in his last few fights that he is willing to fight the best and he’s stepped up. That’s always been our goal.

The two sides will now negotiate for a fight later in 2018.
