Fury Rants After Joshua’s Victory

Last year Tyson Fury took over the heavyweight division, upsetting Wladimir Klitschko and claiming the long-reigning champion’s titles. Now, the division has moved on from Fury.

After Anthony Joshua knocked out Eric Molina and faced off with Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday, Fury took to Twitter to remind everyone who the "real" champion is.

Joshua holds the IBF title that Fury won from Klitschko last November. When Fury chose to rematch Klitschko rather than face his mandatory challenger, he relinquished the IBF belt; this year’s mental health issues and drug addiction led to him losing the WBA and WBO belts as well.

The WBO belt went to Joseph Parker, who defeated Andy Ruiz by majority decision in his home country of New Zealand on Saturday.

Fury’s vacant WBA title will be on the line in April, when Joshua and Klitschko face off in what will be one of the fights of the year.

Fury was in attendance at the Manchester Arena to watch Joshua’s title defense against Molina. Though he had harsh words for the division’s current champions, who he believes to be illegitimate, "The Gypsy King" did offer praise to the card’s co-feature, a heavyweight battle between Derek Chisora and Dillian Whyte.
