Fury Stops Wach In Seven

Tyson Fury (36-2-1, 25 KOs) made a comfortable return to the ring, with Mariusz Wach (39-14, 20 KOs) retiring on his stool at the end of the seventh round.

Fury was measured in the opening round, circling and probing on the back foot without committing. However, from the third round onward it was increasingly one-sided. Fury’s jab found the target at will. Fury pinned Wach in the corner and landed five consecutive right uppercuts flush on the chin in the fifth.

By the sixth, Fury was doing what he wanted — landing to the head and body. Wach’s corner made the call at the end of the seventh, pulling their man out before the eighth could begin. Attention now turns to Anthony Joshua, who faces Kristian Prenga tomorrow, as a Joshua win likely sets up a Fury fight.
