Fury Tells Joshua To Not Be Greedy
Tyson Fury is questioning why Anthony Joshua has not accepted the $50 million offer from WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder for a unification battle.
Wilder emailed Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, last week with the $50 million guarantee for a bout with the WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF champion.
Since the offer was made, Hearn has questioned the legitimacy of the offer from Wilder, and while there has been proof presented of the $50 mllion, Hearn and Joshua still have many questions that need to be answered.
Fury, who is set to return to the ring in June, claims that Joshua is greedy for not taking the offer if its genuine.
In a recent interview, the former heavyweight champion claimed that, “it’s a lot of money if it’s a genuine offer, which I believe it is. Then how much do they want?
“How greedy can one man be? $50 million isn’t good enough? Well, good luck to him, I hope he gets $250 million.
“I don’t know what’s going on. We’re prize fighters. We boxed for free once upon a time. I’m sure it’s not [just] about the money.”
Fury will return to the ring for the first time in three years against an unconfirmed opponent in Manchester on June 9th.
