The $155 million dollar payday for Fury/Joshua went up in smoke when the arbitrator sided with Wilder that he was owed a rematch with Fury as written in their contract after Wilder lost to Fury in February 2020.
Fury wants to get the Wilder fight done as quickly as possible, so he can move back into his lucrative undisputed championship match with Joshua.
He has millions of good reasons to want the fight over. While the third fight between Fury and Wilder benefits Wilder, the purse pales in comparison to the Fury/Joshua fight. The rematch clause in their current contract has Fury receiving 60% with Wilder receiving 40%.
