Fury-Wilder Road Show Starts Monday
The press tour for Deontay Wilder’s biggest challenge to date begins on Monday, as he and Tyson Fury will hold the first of several press conferences.
Fury’s promoter Frank Warren made it known to IFL TV this week that Fury and WBC champion Wilder will take to the stage on Monday in London, with follow-up pressers in New York and Los Angeles.
While those three cities are the target of the press tour, the December showdown will be in Las Vegas. “It’s been about deciding what venue it will go to,” claimed the promoter. “It’s not an issue because it’s a nice problem, it’s who is going to put up the most money.”
“You get the usual things with judges, depending on where it is going to take place. If you go to Las Vegas they want to appoint all the officials; we don’t particularly want that.
“We want the officials agreed between the two parties, and they should be as neutral as possible. That is one of the things we have been working on.”
The fight details are appearing to leak during Saturday’s Alexander Povetkin and Anthony Joshua showdown for the latter’s WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF heavyweight championships.
