Fury Won’t Fight Joshua In 2024 – Says Frank Warren

Tyson Fury has no plans on fighting Anthony Joshua next year.

That is according to Frank Warren. The Gypsy King is preparing to face Oleksandr Usyk in a legacy-defining fight, giving him the chance to become undisputed. Before this bout, Fury made two offers to Joshua to get the fight made. A 60-40 offer was made before his fight with Derek Chisora. It failed after Joshua’s side could not meet the deadline. The same offer was made in the summer, but Joshua chose to face Robert Helenius instead. Since then, Fury has distanced himself from the fight, which is still the case.

“He’d have a long wait for Tyson Fury. Tyson’s got his fight and his programme’s set out for next year and at this moment in time doesn’t include Joshua. Joshua, he had two opportunities to fight him [Fury], one last December and this year. Those fights didn’t happen for whatever reason and the situation is now that we are in a position where a number of big fights will be announced. It all depends what happens on Saturday,” Warren said

There is still a scenario that Fury and Joshua could fight. If both boxers come through their next fights spectacularly and Joshua beats Deontay Wilder, the calls for a mega domestic clash may increase. Since Usyk is the only big name outside of Joshua whom Fury has not fought, AJ could still secure that fight. The first step is to come through Otto Wallin in style.
