Fury: You Need A Bat To Beat Me
With his return to the ring just about two weeks away, Tyson Fury welcomes any and all comparisons to the legendary Muhammad Ali, agreeing with some who see him fighting a similar style.
“100%. I am just a foot taller and about 100 pounds heavier. Look, Muhammad Ali was the greatest boxer to ever put on a pair of gloves for more than just boxing reasons. To be compared to a great heavyweight like that is an honor and he was one of my childhood heroes growing up and a man I inspired to be like as a young boxer,” said Fury to reporters at Top Rank’s Las Vegas headquarters.
When asked about his current mental health status, Fury feels way beyond the issues that dragged him out of boxing in 2015.
“Say like a million percent better. I am ready for anyone they put in front of me. They are only boxers with a pair of gloves on. They are all man made out of blood and bone. I don’t give a f*** who they put in front of me, the outcome will be the same,” Fury told BoxingScene.com.
“If these so called champions couldn’t beat me after I had a few months back from all of that depression, all of the anxiety, all the drugs, all the alcohol, all the weight loss, how the f*** are they going to beat me today? I will tell you how to beat Tyson Fury – with a f***ing baseball bat while I’m asleep and then I am going to get up and kick your ass, 100%”
