Gable Steveson Booked for Second UFC Fight

Gable Steveson (4-0, 4 KOs) has been added to the upcoming UFC 331 event as the 2020 Olympic gold medal-winning freestyle wrestler will fight Sean Sharaf in a heavyweight bout.

It will be the fifth MMA fight of Steveson’s career, having scored four successive first-round stoppages to date, including his UFC debut on July 11, when he beat Elisha Ellison in the first three minutes at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Coached by the former two-division UFC champion, Jon Jones, Steveson returns to the Octagon just two months later, taking on Sharaf at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on September 19.

Nicknamed ‘The Smoke,’ Sharaf has a pro MMA record of 4-2-0 (4 KOs). Sharaf will hope to buck a two-fight losing skid when he fights Steveson, having dropped defeats to Junior Tafa and Steven Asplund in his two UFC bouts to date.

Elsewhere at UFC 331, Joshua Van defends his UFC flyweight championship against Alexandre Pantoja in a rematch, Arman Tsarukyan takes on Mauricio Ruffy at lightweight, and Renato Moicano fights Brian Ortega also at 155 pounds. The UFC also announced a separate heavyweight fight for the UFC 331 card, with Robelis Despaigne returning against Tai Tuivasa.
