Gable Steveson Explains Why He Didn’t Meet Dana White In Vegas

Tokyo Olympics gold –medalist Gable Steveson and UFC Dana White were looking forward to meet each other, but it never happened.

Speaking with MMA Hour, the 21-year-old wrestler explained why the meeting never happened.

“I got to Vegas and I was on go the whole day. So I had no time to reach out or nothing,” he said.

Steveson clarified that he will not go after the UFC to sign him, but the organization will have to come after him if White wants to rope him in.

“He’s not coming at me like that, so like I said I’ll wait my turn,” Steveson said. “Dana, you have my phone number. You have my Instagram. I don’t run to people. I do my job. I wrestle. I win championships. I put on for the university. I put on for the USA. No need for me to run anywhere.”

Steveson’s stocks have risen ever since he won gold in Tokyo. The young wrestler has been linked with a move to Bellator, WWE and UFC.

Steveson hasn’t yet given his final words on which organization he will choose. So far, he has met WWE boss Vince McMahon during his stop at Summer Slam.
