Gable Steveson Stunned In One Of The Quickest Finishes & Biggest Upsets In UFC History
Gable Steveson entered the octagon a massive favorite at -2700 on the betting odds for his UFC 331 main card fight versus Sean Sharaf, who was seeking his first ever UFC victory.
But in a shocking upset, Steveson got caught with a powerful left hook from his opponent, who went on to finish the fight in just 12-seconds, tying the third fastest heavyweight finish of all time. Many were considering the fight a complete layup for the Olympic gold medal wrestler and protégé of Jon Jones. But now Steveson’s status as top prospect at 265-pounds is in complete question after getting finished with such ease by Sharaf, who was coming off losses to both Junior Tafa and Steven Asplund in 2024 and 2025, and has been out of the octagon since.
Despite the devastating knockout produced by Sharaf, Steveson was up and walking around shortly after the fight was called off, but he didn’t stick around for the winner’s announcement or a post-fight interview. At this time, it is uncertain if his quick departure from the octagon following the loss has anything to do with an injury or his condition following the knockout.
