Gable Steveson’s Second UFC Fight Gets Major Upgrade
Gable Steveson’s (4-0) sophomore UFC fight has been added to the main card at the upcoming UFC 331 event which takes place on Saturday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
The 26-year-old, an Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling, made his MMA debut in September 2025 and needed just one minute and 38 seconds to beat Braden Peterson by technical knockout. He has since added three more wins to his resume, including his latest — a first-round knockout of Elisha Ellison in his first fight in the UFC on July 11.
Earlier this week, Brian Ortega was forced to withdraw from his September 19 fight against Renato Moicano after suffering a cut above his left eye.
The nixed fight created a gap at UFC 331, with Steveson’s fight against Sean Sharaf (4-2) now opening the main card.
Sharaf returns to the Octagon for the first time since December 2025 and will hope to halt a two-fight losing skid since joining the UFC. He was supposed to fight Tai Tuivasa on May 2 but the bout was canceled when Sharaf withdrew because of a broken nose. Steveson is a massive -1800 betting favorite to beat Sharaf.
A rematch between UFC flyweight champion Joshua Van and the former champ Alexandre Pantoja headlines UFC 331.
