Gabriel Bonfim Overcomes Belal Muhammad, Calls Out A Different Former UFC Champion

On Saturday night live from the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, Gabriel Bonfim added a fifth consecutive win to his undefeated streak, with an impressive victory over former welterweight champion Belal Muhammad.

Despite the main event contest going the full five-round distance, this was a dominant victory for Bonfim. Through quick and precise striking, the Brazilian was able to batter the former 170-pound titleholder, while maintaining strong takedown defence against the skilled wrestler in Muhammad.

Through this victory, Bonfim added a seventh overall UFC win to his record since earning his contract back in 2022 on Dana White’s Contender Series. The only hiccup ‘Marrerinha’ has run into in his professional career was the second-round knockout loss in his third UFC match against Nicolas Dalby, to which Bonfim bounced back with the win streak he currently finds himself on.

During his post-fight interview, Bonfim used his time on the mic to call out his next opponent. The new welterweight contender knows he is getting close to a title shot with a win over the No. 5 ranked Muhammad. But he was also realistic in his approach, calling out another former champion, Jack Della Maddalana, who is ranked inside the top five despite suffering a second straight loss when he met Carlos Prates back in May.
