Gane Vs. Hokit UFC Heavyweight Title Fight & Harrison-Nunes Set For MSG
Correcting a miscommunication from an interview with Dana White on Friday, Ciryl Gane has in fact been elevated to undisputed heavyweight champion following the injured Tom Asinpinall relinquishing the title, and he will have his first defense at UFC 334 this November.
UFC 334 will take place on November 14th inside Madison Square Garden in New York. In the main event of the evening, Gane will put his newly received title on the line against Josh Hokit, who is coming off a strong stoppage victory over Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250 in June.
Between his recent performances, outspoken attitude, and brash antics, Hokit became an immediate frontrunner for a title shot at 265-pounds when Aspinall announced he would step away from the belt because of the injuries he suffered to his eyes during his fight with Gane last October.

At the beginning of 2026, Kayla Harrison was forced out of her scheduled title defense against the returning former titleholder Amanda Nunes due to an injury. But now her training has ramped up, and she is set for her return against Nunes in the co-main event of UFC 334.
Harrison underwent emergency surgery for a cervical spine injury in January, which has led to a slow and patient recovery process. Her return against Nunes after such an extensive recovery will certainly be the biggest test of the Olympic gold medalist’s career.
