Garcia Looks To Establish Legacy

On March 16th, Mikey Garcia looks to win another world title, this time jumping up two weight classes to face Errol Spence Jr. for his IBF welterweight crown.

“I’m excited for this opportunity. It’s history in the making,” notes Garcia, who looks to win a world title in his fifth weight class. “I’m trying to establish a great legacy. Fans are responding all around the country. There won’t be any shortage of support on fight night.”

Garcia who has never fought above light welterweight, has made his home at lightweight the past few years, taking the WBC and IBF versions of the titles, the latter he gave up due to taking the fight with Spence.

“I want to be considered one of the greatest of this generation. In order to do that, I have to establish myself in these type of fights,” Garcia believes. “I vacated my title to get a tougher fight, a bigger challenge.

“Once I win it, there’s no denying that I will be number one in the sport.”
