WBC Welterweight Champion Ryan Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs) has called out Devin Haney (33-0, 25 KOs) with the following message— “Devin, I’m waiting” — adding another name to an already congested list of options facing the WBO welterweight champion.
Haney currently has two fights pulling at him from opposite directions. The WBO is expected to move forward with a mandatory defense against Keyshawn Davis, while talks over a 144-pound catchweight showdown with Shakur Stevenson have been building momentum.
Garcia and Haney have unfinished business from their April 2024 no-contest after Ryan’s majority decision win was overturned following failed VADA tests for Ostarine. Since that fight, Ryan has gone on to win his first world title, beating Mario Barrios in February for the WBC belt, while Haney became a three-weight champ after beating Brian Norman Jr. last November for the WBO belt.
