Gary Russell Jr Doesn’t Know When He Will Be ‘100%’ To Fight

Gary Russell Jr. entered the ring with Mark Magsayo earlier this year at Borgata, Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

But during the fourth round of the fight, an accident happened. Russell Jr. injured his right shoulder; this was supposedly pre-existing.

After attempting to push through the fight, he ended up in the operating room. Now, it is a matter of when and if he will enter the ring again.

“I been doing a lot of aggressive physical therapy,” said Russell to a group of reporters. “Real aggressive physical therapy.”

Although the WBC featherweight champion is uninterested in another fight with Mark Magsayo, he is uninterested in fighting anyone at the moment.

He is unsure what the future holds for him due to his injury.

“I’m not jumping into anything prematurely. I don’t know if my arm is going to get back to 100% for me to be able to perform in the way that I really want to but we’re in the process of it.”

Russell Jr. Kicked off his career back in 2009, he has 31 wins and two losses. 18 of those wins by knockout.
