Gastelum Misses Weight, Fight With Cerrone Is Off
UFC 205 has taken one last hit, and it’s one that will sting the fans of "Cowboy" Cerrone. His fight with Kelvin Gastelum on the main card of the historic New York event has been cancelled. Gastelum was unable to make weight at the early-morning weigh-ins.
Cerrone made the welterweight limit early in the morning, but later learned that Gastelum was not even close to 170 lbs. He reportedly was still as heavy as 180 lbs. While the UFC has yet to make a statement, Gastelum did not step on the scales and confirmed on Twitter that his fight with Cowboy was cancelled:
I will not be fighting @Cowboycerrone 2morrow on account that I couldn’t make the wght limit. I apologize 2 cowboy ure a legend. God bless.

The welterweight fight was scheduled for the second slot on the six-fight pay-per-view portion of UFC 205. It is unclear whether a fight will be added to the main card from the prelims or if the promotion will go ahead with the standard five-fight main card.
