Gegard Mousasi Looking To ‘Dream Even Bigger’
Khabib Nurmagomedov calls Gegard Mousasi the most underrated fighter.
Mousasi announced his plans of holding fights in three different weight categories and earn the titles in each of them.
“I’m going to do a weight up in Bellator,” he said.
“Even heavyweight maybe. If I win the light heavyweight belt, maybe it’s nice also to fight for the heavyweight belt. Let me get the light heavyweight belt first, and dream even bigger. At the end of the year is what my manager thinks [for light heavyweight]. To achieve something no one else [has].”
Mousasi has shown he’s an amazing striker and has massive ground game. He defeated Austin Vanderford (11-1-0) in his latest fight and defended his middleweight throne.
After being on a five-fight winning streak, Mousasi left the UFC and signed with Bellator. In Bellator, he fought eight times and earned seven victories.
He is currently on a four-fight winning streak after serving losses to fighters like legendary Lyoto Machida, Douglas Lima, John Selter and Vanderford.
Mousasi is already 36 years old and has held more than 55 fights. He earned 49 victories, suffered seven defeats, and witnessed a draw two times. He is a former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, DREAM double champion, and Cage Warriors middleweight champion.
