Gegard Mousasi Vs. Austin Vanderford Set For Bellator Title Fight In February

Gegard Mousasi is hitting the octagon in February.

Mousasi will defend his Bellator middleweight championship against Austin Vanderford at a Feb. 25 event in Dublin, sources told MMA Junkie.

Mousasi, 36, is in the process of his second Bellator championship run.

The former UFC prospect won the vacant belt in October 2020 against then-welterweight titleholder Douglas Lima and managed to defend it in August with a third-round TKO of John Salter.

Mousasi won the middleweight belt for the first time in 2018, but he lost it to Rafael Lovato Jr. in his second defense in 2019 before regaining it against Lyoto Machida.

Vanderford, the partner of ex-UFC fighter Paige VanZant, is coming off a close decision victory against Fabian Edwards in May.

Five out of his 11 victories are in this promotion, and he has never witnessed a defeat in his professional MMA career.
