George Kambosos Jr., Devin Haney Gives Sneak Peek At Open Workouts

Based on what fans saw from Wednesday’s media workouts, the George Kambosos Jr and Devin Haney undisputed championship fight could be an action-packed one.

Australian Kambosos (20-0, 10 KOs) will meet American Devin Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) for the undisputed lightweight title at Marvel Stadium in Australia Sunday afternoon, or Saturday evening in the U.S.

Haney looked sharp in his moment in the ring. He puts his WBC title on the line in what has been described as the biggest fight of his career thus far.

Kambosos is coming off a Cinderella performance when he recorded a huge upset over former unified champion Teofimo Lopez in November.

“Born ready,” Kambosos said as he shadow boxed, showing off his speed.

Haney earned the undisputed title shot after original frontrunner Vasiliy Lomachenko announced he was staying in Ukraine to defend his country from Russia’s ongoing attacks.

Lomachenko, a former unified lightweight champion, rightfully earned the stop as the No. 1 contender after a dominant win over former division champion Richard Commey in December.

But Kambosos moved onto Haney, and now the lightweight division is one step closer to an undisputed champion.

Their final press conference will kick off at 9 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. PT.
