George Kambosos Jr Takes A Jibe At Bob Arum
Top Rank boss Bob Arum feels like Vasiliy Lomachenko would be a better matchup against George Kambosos Jr in Australia, than WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney.
But the Australian superstar doesn’t agree with the veteran promoter.
“Mr. Arum with all due respect they’re not coming in to watch Haney or Lomachenko, they are coming to watch their Emperor return home with all the belts after Taking Over boxing,” Kambosos tweeted in response to Arum’s statement.
“These belts are Australia’s & Greece’s and they’re going to need an army to take them off us.”
Earlier, Arum had suggested: “Nobody knows who Devin Haney is in Australia. Lomachenko would be a much bigger match in Australia than Devin Haney would be.”
“He [Haney] hasn’t had any exposure. Everybody that follows boxing around the world, including Australia, knows Lomachenko,” he added.
Kambosos hasn’t leaned towards any of the prized fights he has been linked to so far. He has made it clear that he is open to fighting any challenger in front of his home crowd.
He will put on the line the WBA, IBF, WBO and The Ring lightweight titles which he clinched from Teofimo Lopez in late 2021.
