George Kambosos Targeting May Fight Against ‘A Big Name’ In Australia

WBA, IBF, WBC Franchise and WBO lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr has revealed his next move.

That move includes a fight in May in either Sydney or Melbourne, Australia, the boxer’s home country. As for an opponent, he’s not sure yet, but it won’t be just anyone.

“My entire career has been the hard road. There’s never been an easy option for me. I’ve always had to grind,” Kambosos told Fox Sports.

“We’ve got to really let Australia know what’s going on and how big this fight will be. This will be the biggest fight in Australian history. It’ll be a stadium fight in Sydney or Melbourne. We’re in negotiations with both, and it’ll be very exciting…”

“I’m coming for the big names, and we’re already in negotiations with everybody,” he added.

The Australian star has stirred the lightweight division ever since he scored a major upset win against Teofimo Lopez in November.

Now, Kambosos has been called out by the division’s best including WBC champion Devin Haney, former unified champ Vasiliy Lomachenko, WBA “Regular” champion Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia.

Kambosos (20-0, 10 KOs) has yet to be beaten in his pro career.
