George Kambosos Wants To Fight Ryan Garcia If He Upsets Teofimo Lopez

George Kambosos wants to give Ryan Garcia the first crack at gold if he’s able to defeat Teofimo Lopez.

Kambosos is expected to challenge Lopez for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, The Ring, and WBC (Franchise) Lightweight Titles at some point this year. Triller won a purse bid to obtain rights to the fight.

During an interview with Fight Hype, Kambosos explained why he’d give Garcia the first title opportunity if he can pull off the upset over Lopez.

“I’ve got respect for Garcia too because we FaceTime’d, he showed a lot of love for my fight with Lopez. I know he’s backing me, I know he wants me to win this fight. I gave him my word. After I beat Lopez and I take all his belts, I said, ‘I’ll give you the first crack. As long as you’re doing your thing, I’ll give you that first crack but in Australia.’ Once I have all the belts, I have all the aces. They gotta come see me. I’ve been traveling now it’s time to change it.”

Kambosos went on to say that if he becomes the big kahuna at 135 pounds, he won’t be playing any games to hold off on major fights.

“I don’t like to get too political with things. [If] these are the guys that they say are the best in the division, then I’ll fight the best right away. What kind of warrior would I be if I beat this one warrior who’s paraded as the best, and then go down to a level and fight different guys? I’m a warrior that wants to challenge the best and that’s how you leave a legacy.”
